Increment Weather Policies &

Planning for It

Being that the majority of our events take place outdoors, we are at the mercy of the elements. We do our best to plan accordingly, but being that this is out of our control, we often have to pivot and adjust as needed.

This may mean adding a “rain proof” tent, siding and heat for guests and our kitchen, or heaters for colder evenings, tenting or umbrellas for guests or our staff.

We always recommend that we have a “rain plan” for Spring and Fall events, and while no one wants to necessarily think about it, it is important to have these conversations with our clients.

We also do include an increment weather clause in our contracts.

Increment weather refers to conditions that are severe, harsh, or unpleasant that make outdoor events difficult for guests and staff. It includes temperatures above 87 or below 45 degrees, rainy or gusty winds. In case of inclement weather, PAC is legally required to provide adequate protection for our staff, both during set up and for the duration of the event.  This may require umbrellas/tenting or indoor space in hot weather. In cold & rain, heat/tenting or indoor space may be needed. All outdoor bars require shade or heaters. PAC reserves the right to make changes or rent necessary equipment to accommodate the above at clients expense. A safe event environment for guests and staff alike, requires sufficient lighting and on-site parking.
